Indonesian Street Food – Tasty, Cheap, Healthy

Here I show three of the cheap delicious foods available roadside in Mataram, Indonesia.

Kemiri, also known as Candlenuts. I got a dozen for 10k rupiah ( $0.85 NZD, $0.60 USD. )

Salak, or snakefruit. I got a bag of 7 I think for 10k ( or was it 5k? ). A crisp thirst-quenching snack.

Ubi Jalar, known as Sweet Potato or kumara in New Zealand. I paid 9k Rupiah for a bag of about 1 kg.

These should fry up nicely in the air cooker with the 2kg bag of local Palm Oil I bought today ( 44.000 rupiah [ 44k ] , about $4 NZD ( $2.35 USD ).
